《One Sweet Day》由Mariah Carey 与Boyz II Men共同创作，曾收录于Carey于1995年的第5张录音室专辑《Daydream》，Mariah之所以想创作做这首歌是因为她身边的不少人渐渐逝去，她说：“我告诉Walter我的想法，接着我们以一贯的方式谱写词曲，当我想到副歌的旋律时，我突然止住了，因为我想到要和Boyz II Men一起写接下来的部分。
” Walter说：“那个时候，Boyz II Men 是最红的组合。通过双方的经纪人，双方初步见面，他们很感兴趣，Mariah就跟着旋律唱，他们其中一个竟然能够重叠唱，仿佛两人一早就知道这首歌的旋律。” Boyz II Men的Nathan Morris听到Mariah写的部分词曲时很震撼，因为这和他自己写的歌不谋而合。“我告诉Mariah两个月前我也写了类似的歌，结果我们最后结合了两个人的词曲，所以你可以看见这么多人的名字出现在词曲栏上。
